An opportunity for local artists and musicians
to introduce the public to their art
and a unique chance for the community to see artists at work.

7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Registration for all artists
7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Visual Artists create their art
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Community Painting on large canvas
9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Open Mic Stage
10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Little Masterpieces Chalk Art Competition
3:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m. Visual artists register their finished works
4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. William Green Performs
5:00 p.m. Visual Arts awards will be announced
Last year 18 painters and drawers participated in the event and 3 lucky winners walked away with $1700 in prizes! We encourage all visual artists to participate in this event to win cash but also as a means expose their work to the public.

Official Rules - Visual Arts
PLEASE PLACE YOUR INITIALS BY EACH RULE AFTER READING
___All participants must register and sign in at the registration booth from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2006. No entries will
be accepted after that time.
___Visual artists, excluding photographers and computer artists must stay in the Uptown Richmond area on the side walks of Main Street
between 6th and 10th streets after they register until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday while creating their works unless otherwise finished.
___Photographers and computer artists may leave the area only to process their work.
___All works will be submitted for final entry at the registration booth after 3:00 p.m. but no later than 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 5 and will
be judged. No entries will be accepted after 4:00 p.m. Winners will be announced at 6:30 p.m. or after the last Songwriting category
performance whichever comes first.
___All participants must bring their own supplies and will be marked at registration to insure that all artists start with clean canvases, paper,
etc. No art work can be started before that time except for standard preparation of their surfaces such as gesso or sealing.
___Any 2-dimensional art work will be accepted such as painting, drawing, photography and computer art, etc.
___Artists must be 18 years or older.
___Artwork is not limited to any subject but must be family viewable or otherwise disqualified.
___Artists may create as many works as they wish but may only enter 2 pieces of art.
___Artists may bring resources to work from such as pictures if needed.
___Works should NOT be framed for final entry.
___1st, 2nd and 3rd winning prize works will belong to sponsors with all rights to them.
___Winning prize artists may have reasonable access to the work to photograph for portfolio purposes and may borrow the work for 2 one
month sessions within 2 years following the competition and return the work to the sponsor unless otherwise agreed upon between both
parties.
___Masterpiece on Main Arts Festival and the organizers can not be held responsible for any bodily injury and adverse incidents to the
participants nor their materials and artwork.
___Masterpiece on Main Arts Festival may use any participant’s name and artwork entry for publicity.
___Several non-prize winners will be selected for a month art exhibit after the competition at a location to be determined.
___Artists will be responsible for picking up their works within one month after the exhibit otherwise the work will belong to Masterpiece on
Main Arts Festival.
